Education and Training

Intergenerational project for Suffolk Art Link.

I deliver workshops and lectures in poetry, scriptwriting and solo performance. I’ve worked with organisations including Creative Partnerships, Kingston University, The British Council, Writers Centre Norwich, Apples & Snakes, City College Norwich, Suffolk Art Link and lots of lovely schools. I’ve also done some talks on poetry in education (here’s a blog I wrote for Rialto on this) and a bit of teacher training.

If you want to talk about any potential projects give me a shout: hello@mollynaylor.com

Here are some things some nice teachers said about working with me as proof that I’m not rubbish:

Working with a professional poet was an enjoyable experience for both of the teachers involved, and provided us with many ideas for new and innovative ways to introduce and teach poetry in the classroom. The feedback from the children was very positive, and since the sessions finished they have shown far more interest in reading and writing poetry. Molly’s professional approach to her work was extremely impressive, and I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any similar projects.

Molly came to work at Brentford School for Girls as part of our international festival. During the day she worked with a very mixed bunch of students. Some loud and outgoing, some shy and others for whom English is very much a second language. During the day Molly showed a real talent with working with young people. She put them at ease and lead them through a process of thoughtful, fun and creative writing. All those involved produced work that far exceeded anyone’s expectations. After having watched Molly perform her own work and having developed poems of their own, all of our students were keen to share their work. The day was a raging success with all involved learning very valuable lessons in confidence, self expression and, not least, literacy.
